CAR 2.0 is a geospatial tool designed to support the analysis of Brazil’s Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) by automatically verifying compliance with the requirements for Legal Reserves and Permanent Preservation Areas established under the Brazilian Forest Code, among other criteria.
The platform uses machine learning algorithms, thematic databases, and satellite imagery to generate high-resolution mapping (5 meters) and to assess and monitor environmental compliance.
The system streamlines the analysis process by distinguishing properties without pending issues from those with irregularities that must either be corrected or manually reviewed.
As with SeloVerde, anyone can access CAR 2.0 and obtain an official report using only the property’s CAR registration code. Together, these innovative platforms represent a major step forward in accelerating the environmental regularization of rural properties across Brazil.
