Dr. Marcelo Azevedo Costa is a full professor in the Department of Production Engineering at UFMG and a member of the Postgraduate Program in Production Engineering at the same institution. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in the area of Computational Intelligence, a post-doctorate from Harvard Medical School Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in the area of Spatial Statistics and Epidemiological Surveillance, and also post-doctorate from Linköping University (Sweden) in the area of Statistical Analysis, Diagnosis and Fault Detection in Industrial Environments. He is a research professor at the Decision Support and Reliability Laboratory (LADEC/UFMG) working on projects in the area of regulation models for the electricity sector, a collaborating professor at the Environmental Services Management Laboratory (LAGESA/UFMG), as well as a member of the management committee and coordinator at CSR.
